Rules:

Two man, single elimination match play (Four-Ball). Tournament pairings are based on team combined handicap indexes. Pairings announced and play can begin on April 15.

You can sign up yourself and a partner at the same time for this two-man team format. After picking your partner, then click on save. When the page “Edit Your Signup” comes up, check the box next to “Playing with Host”. This tells GG who your partner is. Also click on Send Message to Manager and send a message confirming who your partner is. If you prefer, you can sign up only yourself and we will pair you randomly with another registered player before closing registration. Should you change your mind and agree with someone to play together, make no changes to your registration, send Message to Manager or an email to tournaments@ihsmga.org and we will team you up.

 All USGA Match Play rules and Club local rules will be in effect.

Matches must be completed by the following dates:                       

ROUND # 1 - Complete by May 15
ROUND # 2 - Complete by June 15
ROUND # 3 - Complete by July 15
SEMI-FINAL - Complete by August 15
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - Complete by September 1

ANY TEAM NOT MEETING SCHEDULED DATES CAN BE DISQUALIFIED. SEE EXTRA INFO BELOW

Handicap:

100% - play off the low handicap in effect for your group on the day of your match

Tees:

Green unless listed on the Blue tee list

Scoring:

Scorecards can be obtained from the Pro Shop or by using the scorecard function on the Home page at ihsmga.org. If you pick up and concede a hole, record the most likely gross score you would have made without exceeding NET double bogey. If a match ends prior to 18 holes and the remaining holes are not played, gross scores for the unfinished holes should be entered as no more than a NET par.
Please email match results to matchplay@ihsmga.org with a photo of the signed scorecard so the brackets on the website can be updated. Scores must be reported to GHIN by each player so be sure to follow the above procedures for scoring and complete the cards before signing and emailing.

Ties:

Return to your first tee of the day and continue playing holes in order until there is a winner

Conditions:

If we are driving on the course, play the ball down. If we are cart path only, lift, clean, and place within one club length, no closer to the hole, and in your own fairway.

Extra Info:

Please carefully review your vacation plans and contingencies that might preclude completing all rounds per the schedule. It is especially important that the first round be completed within the posted time frame. In the absence of highly unusual circumstances, entrants who do not play matches by these dates can be disqualified.
Once teams are posted and brackets have been set, no cancellations are acceptable and no refunds can be made. A player may cancel prior to the first match if he or his partner can find a member to replace him with the same or similar handicap. If there is a waiting list with an acceptable replacement, that can be an option.
ONCE A TEAM HAS PLAYED THE FIRST ROUND, ANY TEAM MEMBER BACKING OUT LEAVES HIS PARTNER TO PLAY ALONE OR FORFEIT THE REMAINING MATCHES. NO SUBSTITUTIONS AT THIS POINT, AND NO REFUND.
The Playday Coordinators will attempt to accommodate those teams who want to play a match on a regular playday. The team should send an email to teetimes@ihsmga.org WELL IN ADVANCE to coordinate their tee time which will be at the end of the playday group if available. The Match Play groups have the option to participate in both the Match and the Playday however, they should communicate their option in the email to the Playday coordinator.
